Why undertile heating and undercarpet heating?

Undertile heating

When compared to the old underfloor heating system which was laid from wall to
wall and covered with a heavy screed which could be as thick as 80 mm, undertile
heating is a much more selective system. In most of the living areas such as TV
rooms, the laying of the heating wires will only occupy a space of approximately
50% and this is simply done by laying the wires away from the walls by a distance which can vary between 800 and 1200mm, and this is in most cases where the furniture is going to stand. The same would apply in a dining-room where people are sitting around the table usually placed in the middle of the room. In bath-rooms the scenario is different. Firstly most of the time the free space allocated in a bath-room is limited and secondly we walk barefoot in it. Because of this particularity no one should be allowed to feel cold spots, and consequently we endeavour to maximum coverage and thanks to our hand laid system versus pad systems, we are able to do so. The same thinking goes for any areas where walking barefoot applies.

Undercarpet heating

is manufactured in different pad sizes and power outputs. Twelve different sizes are available. There will always be a pad to fit a particular situation. No flat-bottom furniture such as kists/toy-boxes, mattresses, pot-plants should be allowed to rest on the heating pads. This will block the heat and might induce discolouring of the carpet.

Undertile and undercarpet heating

Compared to other forms of heating, the main advantages are:

1. Soft, even warmth wherever you are in the room, compared to a hot spot in a corner of a room.
2. Even on high elevated ceiling, warmth is felt in the same way because it rises gently from the
ground up wherever you are over the heated floor.
3. Because there is no air movement in the air, very few dust particules are circulating into the
room space. Undertile heating is recommended to persons suffering from asthma and related
    allergies.
4. Economical compared with other form of energy. Some years ago, Escom did a survey on different
form of heating systems using different form of energy and guess what - undertile heating came
    first on the list.
5. Super fast quality installations. A double storey house between 200 m² to 300 m² is done in a full
day, if the building site allows it; thanks to our dedicated teams which have been with us for more
   than 10 years.
6. For undercarpet heating, existing wall-to-wall carpets can be uplifted by our professional team,
pads are then inserted  onto the underfelt and the carpet is then restretched and voila !
7. Extreme flexibility of the system in our climatic conditions. In the case of a cold spell, you will not
have to wait 24 hours for the system to warm up. Guaranteed!
8. Unobtrusive and maintenance free.
